TRACEY | Journal has been publishing drawing and visualisation research and practice since 1997. Published by Loughborough University and affiliated with the School of Design and Creative Arts, the journal has established itself as one of the leading International journals that focus on drawing. TRACEY takes an inclusive approach to drawing, supporting a broad definition and embracing the weaving of drawing practice through the broader domain of visualisation. The journal is currently edited by Dr Deborah Harty and Prof Russell Marshall.
TRACEY invites artists, designers, students, educators and researchers to respond. Responses may take the previously unpublished articles or research. In addition visual submissions may be made and these will be published in a curated digital exhibition with each TRACEY edition. All contributions are subject to editorial control.
Publishing Schedule
TRACEY | Journal now publishes two editions a year:
- an annual call will invite submissions against a specific research theme, typically for submission in September to be published in March
- we will accept the submission of speculative papers at any point in the year, with a final deadline of March, for an edition typically published in September. This will offer the opportunity for authors to disseminate their research on any theme.
Open access policy
TRACEY | journal is a double blind peer-reviewed journal. All articles are published with Open Access (OA). OA is an incleasingly important requirement to ensure research findings are freely available. TRACEY supports the OA principles and serves authors, researchers and the community by publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed OA content. By default we publish Gold OA under the CC-BY, Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. We also support Green OA allowing authors to deposit content in institutional and subject-specific repositories.
