British School Technology (BST) was formally launched on 1April 1984 with a Central Government grant provided by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Manpower Services Commission (MSC). The Government grant was to act as a pump priming over the first three years of operation and BST was charged with moving towards a self-financing operation from 1 April 1987.
