Abstract

Elements of Engineering Design is a Cambridge Board A-level course devised to involve sixth form pupi Is in the creative and constructive disciplines of the design engineer. As an examination syllabus it offers a balance between theoretical aspects of the technology of materials and processes; mechanics, designed practical project work. The importance of a candidate's ability in the solution of design problems from defining a brief through analysis, synthesis, realization and evaluation is indicated by a coursework mark of 40%.
